The New York Islanders are preparing to play the Anaheim Ducks in a first-round playoff series on Tuesday night.
The Ducks, however, are coming off a 4-1 loss in Game 4 of their Eastern Conference first-stage series, with Anaheim outscoring the Islanders by three goals to one.
The Isles are coming out of the first round with the best record in the NHL.
They are 3-0-1 in their last five games, including a 4 – 2 victory over the Chicago Blackhawks on Tuesday.
“I don’t think there’s any doubt that we can beat them,” said goaltender Joe Morrow, who also made 32 saves in the loss.
“We just need to get some pucks to them and find ways to score.
The game is fast, and we need to make the most of it.”
In Game 3, the Isles went 2-for-4 on the power play.
That’s tied for the third-most power-play goals in the playoffs this season, trailing only the Toronto Maple Leafs (16) and Boston Bruins (17).
In Game 4, the Islanders went 0-for, 0-2 on the penalty kill, while Anaheim scored two goals on the man advantage.
The game is tied 1-1 at the time of this report.
